why konami dont wast your time thinking how to create a Solid Vision System instead to remove opensuorce games from the people ashhahsahshah
I have seen quite a lot of responses like this on youtube and various forums.
Let’s have a look on the viewpoint of those “business elites” of game industry:
First, a large fanbase who doesn’t contribute to the profit of a company is completely useless. Only those that can afford and are willing to pay are meaningful. Ironically, such portion of potential customers will be drawn to YgoPro due to the existence of a large community for online card duel.
Therefore, YgoPro becomes a hindrance to any upcoming commercial online dueling platforms. So, the simple solution is to destroy all the existing communities of these free competitive products, forcing the potential customers to jump ship to the future commercial platforms.
Simply put, just destroy the community and restart it from scrap to build up a new community dedicated to pay for online card duel.
Oh, and let’s talk about the exciting parts of probable business models of the online platform in future. It’s likely to be free-to-pay, but pay-to-win models, e.g. crappy booster pack, $1, decent booster pack #1, $20, legendary booster pack, $50, ultimate booster pack, $200, etc.
For mobile counterpart, a pay-to-continue or facebook sharing mechanism like Candy Crush can be added as well.
To add spice to the competitive atmosphere (also boost yummy profit), add some rare cards which are extremely hard to obtain (e.g. one-time release only). Add rules such that losers will lose cards to the winner, and card auction-house for trading between players using real money, with a portion going to the main developer.
Last, it needs not to be the main company, just let others to handle the dirty jobs of pissing off the existing fanbase, for now.
