Hello everyone! So, it's been a long wait since the last full update: I'm sure at this point most of you would like to know something about it, like when the update is finally coming out. Well, there is some good news and bad news: the good news is that, bolded for your convenience, an update to Percy will come out pretty soon! Bad news is, it's still not as complete as we'd hoped, so some of the functionalities we thought we could add will have to be temporarily shafted. Rest assured though, we'll do our best to release a patch sooner than this one! ;)

Here's a full list of all changes you'll see in the next version:
- New Master Rule: Link Monsters and all related cards will finally be playable on Percy! Included among the new additions, of course, will be highly requested cards like "Performapal Odd-Eyes Synchron"
- Improved procedures: most procedures for Extra Deck summoning have been heavily revamped, offering long-awaited fixes to cards still not working 100% such as "Crystron Glyongandr"
- Possibility to choose the event modes in LAN mode
- Compatibility with Gideon's server: it will be possible to connect with Gideon's server in LAN mode, allowing you to play using custom cards and, once some issues with the server have been solved, against an experimental online AI. Further details about the server and how to connect to it will be added to the release post
- Update to online room browser
- Customizable audio for Duels even in MP3 format

And here are what will be missing in this update:
- Backwards compatibility: the ability to switch between New Master Rule and previous Master Rules has given us a lot of trouble, especially in online mode: as such, while it's still possible to switch between them in LAN mode, online Duels will unfortunately be NMR only for now
- Offline AI: I know, this was a pretty big thing, but unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, that too had to be temporarily removed. Like the previous point, we hope to readd it as soon as we can
- Mac support: the next update will be Windows only for now

I repeat in bold and big letters: the next Percy update will not have compatibility with previous Master Rules online or AI. HOWEVER, we will do our best to perfect them and re-add them to a later update as soon as we can.

Details about this?

Event Modes are basically alternate Duel methods, like 5Ds-style Turbo Duels and the VRAINS-style Speed Duels.

The Mac version has not been discontinued, we're simply focusing on the Windows update for now. As for new cards on Mac, I'll still upload the ones that can be scripted, so you should continue to see them as usual, at least for now.

There's still no exact date for the update as far as I know, but it's close enough to completion that Percy feels confident letting me post this.

This may not be the right place to ask, but are there any plans to add image scaling for the card images like in YGOPro 2?

Some additional information:

Action Duel: with the update, They will be removed for some times to come back later improved
I don't know when since I have the Skills and a backlog to deal with before

Skills: I'm trying to finish them ASAP but I made something like 70% of them
a few of them will still be unimplementable, and for a few other I'm struggling with the way they are worded (I feel like back in 2004)

It caused a significant drop in performance when we tried it, so no, there's no plan to add it.

Best part about this information - people will finally stop complaining about lack of links :D

However, since we're on the Internet, they'll find something new to complain about, figures :P

Still glad that this is taken care of. GO TEAM PERCY!

The great thing about Percy was that is supports Mac users. Window users are all already using YGOPRO 2, so what's the point of updating it for Window users? Most of them are already using YGOPRO 2 for automatic simulator or flocked back to DuelingBook for manual. This is not a good move tbh.

Big this is that it's what they have ready, they're likely working hard to get it ready for other OSs, along with adding the rest of the features, ASAP. Just with how big the change is, they've had to work on Windows first as it's where the majority of the userbase is.

You guys should forget about the AI using links, they are generic and helpful but they seem kind of hard to handle for the AI, i rather just let the AI play without the extra-monterZone rule.

Anyway thanks a lot <3

Really awesome! I don't mind the online and AI issues since I play LAN only.
By the way, will be the engine upgraded to the YGOPRO2 or still the same as before?
If not, do there are plans for this upgrade?

Well Eerie would probably be the next to be admin, but as of now, not yet, Percy probably moved this post from the latest version's thread.

And to be fair, LAN Mode is more complete atm. And no, I don't think we have plans, as far as I know, on converting to Unity, unless you know, Percy decides to make Percypro 2 or something. And I don't think we would want to copy.

It's actually hard to define upgrade in this scenario, core-wise, we're way more upgraded than the previous version already.

And I mean, if this is what you meant, why would we upgrade to an engine that is heavier on a machine and its memory?
Now this is how I play:
