What would be rather funny though is that if someone quits the game via closing the program it counts as a surrender but the text says "Player has run away like a chicken" something for a little humor :D

That is right. The replay would be lost also.

That last idea is great 😛 We should have the message popup: "Sorry dude, Player is a douchebag."

LOL.
That funny sentence can be used.

If a player quit of course it should be a loss.
Loss that is worse than surrendering.

So there is lost because of surrendering.
And there is loss because of ragequitting.
They still should be counted differently.

And fixing the system to recover the replay is always good.
Appraise worthy [:thumbu:]

There was a bit of a misunderstanding, here.
This needs a little explanation.

In some countries there is a stronger distinction between "being defeated", "surrendering" and "ragequitting". In asian countries ragequitting is not only unrespectful but it's also considered an insult to the opponent. If you have ever seen a chinese kung-fu movie, you will realize that there is usually a good guy who fights to protect his family, a bad guy who surrenders when he is defeated and there is a very bad guy who doesn't follow the rules, ragequits when he is being defeated and then rapes the good guy's sister/mother/aunt.

In europe and north america there isn't such a distinction. losing is simply the opposite of winning. Ragequitting is being a dick, nothing else.

In the ygopro game, a duel can end in a win, a loss or a draw. If you lose the duel you lose points, it doesn't matter why you lost.
Please don't get offended if the opponent ragequits. He didn't mean to insult you.

There is no point in being insulted by someone rage quiting. A win is a win and sometimes it might not be a rage quit. That person may have had to go do something else.

Wasn't expecting Blue-Eyed Silver Dragon so soon, I was scripting it myself when I noticed the update. At least what I had done was the same as yours 😛 (protection effect)

Thanks for the update!

It does matter.

Of course I appreciate the effort to fix the system to avoid crash.
But they still should be treated differently.

DN, even Devpro are able to differentiate them.
DN has "Admit Defeat" button which is similar to "Surrender" button here.
While "Quit" button is similar with closing the window.
Regarding the scoring also different.
From example, a win from opponent's "Admit Defeat" will give you 10 points.
While a win from opponent's "Quit" or closing the window will give you 15 points.

As in devpro, they are also treated differently.
Even though it's just a simple win count.
A win from opponent's pressing "Surrender" button will give you +1 win of Surrender.
While a win from opponent's ragequit/closing the window will give you +1 win of Ragequit.

@checkmate
You can adapt/implement such scoring methods in your server.
You can give more minus scores for those quitters also.

@percy
I truly understand that you want to punish quitters.
But this is not a real punishment.
You can give "harsher" features in the future if you want to punish 'em.
For example giving them ban for a period of time, not allow a quitter to host/join a room, etc.

Ragequit can be treated as "Surrender" at the internal system,
but they still should be counted as "Ragequit" at the rating/scoring.

i already explained that in another post.
The CheckMate server has a smarter rating system than DN or DevPro.
you get a higher score because you have a better deck and a better strategy than the others below you.

switching to a stupid rating system won't punish the ragequitters because they would exploit that to play more duels in a shorter amount of time thus getting more points.

I'm not telling you to change your scoring system.
What I meant is you can add more criteria for scoring.
Of course you should only give minus points to the quitters.

Will there be an archive release for V4? I'm using the Wineskin version, and Nyanki advises not to use self-extractors with it.

The link is on the Downloads tab under YGOPro for MacOS. It works very well.

The only links I see are for self-extractors. I only do the manual updates (with the sole exception of the Checkmate server update).

YGOPRO for Windows
Full version Take this one if you have no idea which one you should take
Mirror 1: Archive
Mirror 2: Archive

Update only from 1.030.0 V2 to 1.030.0 V4 Already have version 1.030.0? Then download this one
Mirror 1: Self extractor Copy downloaded file to the ygopro folder, run the extractor and overwrite all files
Mirror 2: Self extractor

The Mirror 1: Archive is not a self extractor but a win-rar file.

But it's the full version. I don't really see the need to redownload the whole program when all I need are the new cards. Also, I'm using some custom images and HD proxies for cards, so I don't want to end up replacing those. I'm looking for the update only version.

Well the only updates for download are self-extractors.

If you just download the fresh game you can transfer across your images and stuff.

Other than that I do not know how to help, I just auto-update every time a new one is released and have not had problems with it.
