This is a bugfix release of Ygopro for Mac OS X. The crash at startup bug should be solved in this build.

Just to get everything in one place, here is what I have found (some of this was also posted here ):

This is using the bugfix release with Mac OS 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion).

Audio

  • All audio files (both *.wav and *.ogg) are good
  • In-game music (song.ogg, song-advantage.ogg, song-disadvantage.ogg) doesn't play
  • Other music (rockpaperscissors.ogg, deck.ogg, menu.ogg) works
  • The activation sound effect (activate.wav) doesn't play

Duels

  • Both AI and Online duels crash immediately on start if the Deck Editor was opened (for now Exit/Quit after using the Deck Editor, then relaunch and duel)
  • Entering other menus does not cause a problem, just the Deck Editor
  • Consecutive AI and Online duels work with no problems
  • The game rarely crashes during a duel, currently it has only happened to me one time in an Online duel

Visual

Can you post the crash log?

The setting use_d3d means that ygopro should use DirectX. Which obviously is not available on Mac OS X. The only reason the setting is still available in the Mac version is to keep the system.conf file compatible with the wineskin. use_d3d should always be 0. It will never work correctly otherwise.

Summary: use_d3d should always be 0 on Mac OS X.

Here's a crashlog from a Deck Edit -> AI Duel -> Crash
Not sure if an Online Duel crashlog would be better; if requested I should be able to get one later today.

EDIT: here's a video of the steps to produce this crash:

Even after I downloaded the bug fix, when ever I am in a duel whether it is against the AI or another person its only running at a speed of 10-12 FPS. Is there any way to get this to speed up.

Try turning off the music. Settings tab -> Enable music checkbox

Tsumikiri can you try again with this version?
http://download.ygopro.c...gopro.app-2013-10-22.zip

Copy to your ygopro folder, double on zip file to extract. It will replace ygopro.app (so make a backup first if you want to be sure).

The crash is fixed, I was able to use the deck editor and then play both an AI Duel and an Online Duel.
Thanks for the quick fix! [:thumbu:]

I downloaded the most recent version of the fix and was able to start matches without it crashing, but am now dealing with massive slowdown (around 12-13 fps)

Both the OP AND THIS are not made right either...

I'll [probably] be upgrading to the latest OS X, version 10.9 Mavericks, this weekend since it's free. I'll hopefully be able to post up any bugs that I find for that version by Sunday.

10.9 is free? Do I need a certain version first to get it?

...YgoPro still doesn't work by the way...

Yup, 10.9 is a free upgrade. According to Apple you must already have version 10.6.8 or higher and something like 6GB free on your hard drive to upgrade. I'm not sure what the hardware recommendations are, you could probably find out with a quick Google search.

Anyway, this forum is about YGOPro so I'll also report a new crash I've discovered.
OS Version: 10.8.5
YGOPro Version: the latest one posted on this thread
Procedure:
  1. Open the Deck Editor
  2. Start right-clicking on the cards in the Deck area until they're all gone
  3. Now rapidly and repeatedly right-click on the empty Deck area like a madman
  4. Crash

Notes: I haven't tried this by clicking on the Side Deck area or the Extra Deck area because I'm lazy

I can post a video or screenshots if requested and if I fix my QuickTime. [:wall:]
No worries, though; I know how to fix it, but it requires a restart, and I'm lazy… again.

Hello. Three things

1) Thank you for making a mac version

2) Where can I donate?

3) Where is the deck folder on my mac so I can copy and paste my decks from my old deck folder in my Windows vm?

Thanks!

Also it crashes as soon as I begin to draw cards to start the duel. Anyway to fix this? I am on 10.9

Does it both online and in AI play

I have a problem (Mac 10.6.8), my "m" doesn't work, the "M" works but not the "m"
I only have that problem in the game.

Yes it is. I have found the deck list and the game stops crashing now that I have turned the sound off.

Only question left is how can I donate to this project?
