So I wasn't content with the card backs and card layout that the game currently depicts and wanted more of an anime feel to the game, so I took it upon myself to redesign the cards. Unfortunately, after around 1200 cards out of 6500 or so, I got a bit bored and was wondering if anybody would like to help me continue this project. I am of course talking about the cards used in the actual show in the first few series, as I feel these look significantly better than the ones actually released to the public. I will upload the ones I've done for people to take a look. I am aware that on a few of them the image quality isn't 100% but all in all I think I've done an ok job. I'm just looking for minor help, if people did say 100 cards each then it would take no time at all. (Thumbnails need to be done as well). The easiest way to do this is to open the card on paint, resize and add the bottom by copy and pasting from an already edited card and when you need to do thumbnails, simply open Irfan view, click 'File', 'Batch Conversion/Rename', 'Advanced Settings', 'RESIZE' then change pixels to '44 x 64' and unclick 'Keep aspect ratio'. Then add the files you wish to edit and you're done!

Edit: Had a look and seems ok but there don't seem too many cards and I found the site quite difficult to navigate. Plus, downloading the individual files, renaming to fit ygopro them and resizing them would take a long time so might be easier just editing the original file itself anyway.

The cards look more like metal plates with things plastered on them lol...

However my only difference is that I use Paint.Net, Not photoshop, Each section of the card is in a Different Image file, Doesnt take as long as you'd expect to make the card but I think it looks closer to the anime



I just need to be bothered to give the stars the glow effect they deserve and Im essentially done with the template

its also a bit more tedious to place the Star in the right place but its fine once you know what set amount of spaces you need, If you want the template you gotta download Paint.Net First and then I can show you what space I'd put the stars in between each other

Paint.Net is better than what I use. I used photoshop for a while (about 3 days) before my trial ran out (that I had activated around 27 days before). I still have a copy of CS2 but it's very laggy so I tend to avoid using it. So for convenience I have been using MS paint for some of it. I'll get Paint.Net 🙂

Right, My Template is in Pieces, Meaning you have to open up Stars and Attributes and Place them Accordingly, Not Hard, Just slightly longer than a Photoshop template, I'l Put up a Zip File

a Template is basically a Base in which You are given, then you edit that base to make it look like what you're trying to achieve

Weeeeeell, since you asked so Kindly, Using my Template Requires a Bunch of things Open at once, Thanfully Paint.Net keeps them on the Same window, Im going to Demonstrate by making Krebons

Firstly, You open the Attributes and Star Level Glow Files, And because im making Krebons, the Effect Image file

Now Paint.Net Should have them Like this in a Row here for easy switching



Now, The Optional Part, You can do the Image First or Last, Meaning the Main Krebons image can be done at any time, Since this is a Tutorial, I'l do it last

Next, Add a Layer to the Effect Monster Card And Place the Glowing Star ON TOP of the Middle star and then begin placing them next to each other, Like this



Notice the Stars should be Touching and the Gap in where they meet should be no more or less than a Pixel

For Accurate Star placing, Place one on the left first, then the right, then so on.

After thats done, Place the Attribute on the Right most side but keeing it on the same line as the DEF Box



And After you're done with that, Now its time to Put the ATK And DEF in the Respective Boxes

Use Bookman Old Style Font at Size 36, a Fun thing about Paint.Net, You can move the words around so You can adjust it at any time using the Dragger symbol in the Corner



And after that, Just find the image of Krebons Preferably from Wikia and then flatten and resize it to 177x254 or 44x64 (for thumbnails) And you're done

End Result Should look like this
