Ah it's from ygopro ads!! At least this is the information the uploader say on his site simply he not mention it on youtube description on the video he upload lol!![:doh:] Anyway if ygopro ads not have many bugs with the summon link mechanic then I beleive very soon ygopro percy going to have it too!![:wink:]

Ah guys I learn about the video I found and mention before and depend of the information I found about the video I talk about it was probably only a test about the link summon method and probably that's mean that ygopro ads summon link not release it for the public yet!! There is no any link about a ygopro ads version with summon link so probably it's only a test result after all!!

Well thanks to last news I hear it seems chinese ygopro developments are a llittle more close to release a perfect summon link mechanic for ygopro!! Well now the hole thing is still only beta with a lot of bus and I personal prefer to wait for the correct time when percy and his team can add the summon link mechanic with the more less bugs as possible!![:wink:]

I know longer waiting time = more better version but I still want to test it first. Maybe we can get a beta release first so people can report bugs more and make the progress faster?

Well for people who cannot wait to test the summon link I guess is not bad idea for percy and his team to release a beta version of this but so far the only thing I hear is that some ygopro developments start to use an expirement development exe mode of ygopro in order to somehow are able to test the hole summon link core they probably almost finished!! That's all!! I think that it's still to early to talk even for a beta version of the game release yet!!

So... I haven't been on for a while, and I noticed that the client crashes if you run it on Win XP; while it stopped supporting XP in 1.033.A, or possibly earlier, it still worked properly. I'm curious what changed to cause this (presumably something connected to the auto-update system), and how easy it would be to get it working again. Would it be possible to fix just by linking with older libraries (presuming the current client uses more modern libraries that don't support legacy systems), or would some of the actual code need to be rewritten?

If the latter, where would I find your YGOPro build's source code, if it's still C++? (I know a decent amount of C++, it'd be at nice to at least look at it and see if I could figure out what broke in the D.)

[I ask because one of the systems I have to use sometimes still has XP, and it would be nice to be able to play while I'm on it and waiting for some other task to finish.]

It would be best if you just upgrade your PC. You must already know latest games require high specs.

So start saving. If you can't afford a new just looking for an used.

That's funny, I didn't think expecting you to actually read my post before answering, so you could answer the questions asked instead of completely ignoring them and saying something that has no relevance to the context of the post, counted as "all high and might" (sic). (Because it doesn't.) No offense, but you're extremely unhelpful, and taking offense to being asked to either answer a question, or admit you don't know the answer, instead of ignoring it and saying something unrelated seems kinda immature. You're also the only one acting high and mighty here, so it's pretty hypocritical to claim I am.



For the record:

  1. I explicitly stated that I wanted to run YGOPro on a legacy system that still ran XP, while that system is completing a task for me, to pass the time when I'm forced to use it.
  2. You saw "Windows XP", ignored the rest of my post, blindly assumed I was talking about a personal computer, and told me to upgrade it. In doing so, you explicitly refused to answer either of the actual questions in the post.
  3. I called you out on ignoring my post, and told you that you should actually read posts before "answering" them, so you don't say something that has zero relevance to the issue at hand.
  4. You got offended that I called you out for blatantly ignoring my post, then claimed that I was acting "all high and might" (sic), when the only one acting high and mighty is you. Seriously, thinking you don't have to read users' posts because you automatically know both the question and the answer, then getting offended when your "answer" was irrelevant because it didn't match the actual question(s)? By the way, I also figured out the problem (it was pretty trivial to locate, actually), and it indicates that someone made an assumption that may not always be accurate.

The issue is that the expansions/live2017 and expansions/liveanime folders included in the 1.033.D archive are incomplete, under the assumption that the client's automatic updater would finish the job. If it is unable to do so (such as on XP, where it's disabled), then an issue relating to this (presumably either the lack of all the .CDB files, or a corrupted script) causes the program to try to use an invalid pointer, causing the processor to complain; if you ignore the error message, the program still runs properly, albeit presumably with some or all of the cards in said folders not working properly.

Full XP compatibility can be restored by manually updating the folders from the appropriate git repos (Live2017  and Liveanime ).


Now, this hints that there may be a bigger problem; namely, that the client assumes it'll have an Internet connection, and be allowed to download both updates, upon being upgraded or extracted. This isn't guaranteed, as the client can be downloaded from some other location, then extracted on an isolated system. Thus, this problem might potentially crop up on systems with a fresh 1.033.D client and no network connection as well, even if they're running a modern OS. Testing would be required to determine whether it actually does, or whether the issue is explicitly tied to the updater being disabled (which would most likely limit it to custom builds or installs on XP systems). Either way, it suggests that the subroutine for loading automatic updates can rather easily obtain an invalid pointer, which seems like a code smell.

I think Percy and his team plan to release the non beta link summon version one actually!! It's a waste of time and not needed for Percy and his team to release a beta version when ygopro spain and chinese already do that!! Anyway if you hear something about nas attacks though tell me because lately my sister tell me about a ridicoulus rumor that nas start to attack the available ygopro beta versions and force users to not give access to people who want to test-play with beta version!! I not find time to check this myself but it's seems it's truth that ygopro spain for the new updates not give anymore acces to everybody!! the "not before july" is MLD being really annoyed about "when will link be released" complaining

as for why we don't make a beta:
- There is bugs left in the core itself
- Important change are done currently and regularly, the whole fusion procedure was changed completly just yesteday for exemple
- Percy need to make new functions for the AI

for exemple, in just a few week we got from
- reusing the old Pzone, blocking a zone in function of the cards on the field (for exemple placing a card in the Pzone blocked a spell/trap zone) but there was a problem in ruling since old Pzone are not in the Spell/trap zone
- then we got the Pendulum placed in the spell/trap zone but the old Pzone still appear on the field
- and now we have separate field in function of the MR used
and it is only 1 visible part of the game

the update is like wine, the more you wait, the better it will be [:thumbu:]

for ygopro spain (if Tea82 is talking about ygoproes), they are just taking mercury233 build for their "beta" (with a english translation I'm not sure they are doing themself)
they also take Percypro, only making a spanish translation and even directly sharing the real/english percypro WITHOUT even a mention to percy... they don't even bother rehosting the file...
if they don't give access to everybody, it is unlikely because of NAS since you can find other build based on the same source (mercury233's build), but more to promote their site using yugituber "premium access"
it is the also only reason I see that they are using a password to zip their files since all the other build I see are freely sharing their build
I don't know about others, but I'm not a fan of that mentality...
Percy don't mind if they make a translation and share it but even a small mention of his work would be enough, currently they are making as if it was all their work when they don't worry about 90% of what is making percypro (server, script new card addition, bugfix, bug report, different support management...)

ygopro chinese is likely mercury's original build, he only have online duel without a lobby or other cool features (instant update for exemple) like on other ygopro from what I saw, so it is easier for him to release quick update since there is less to worry about

Mmm this is a very interesting info about ygoproes and I am very glad and relief to hear that NAS have not to do anything with the available ygopro beta and with link summon core after all and I hope not to do anything on the future!! So guys the only thing you need to do is to simply wait and try to not ask again and again when ygopro percy going to add it!! The answer for this is obvious: when the link summon is 100% complete ready!![:wink:]
