Just cuz I'm curious, what's everyone's favorite ygo series, and why? Mine is 5Ds cuz of those boss Synchro Summons.

For me it used to be GX because I liked routing for the underdog, but 5Ds was good and Zexal surprisingly neat, aside from the constant question of "how do you get thrown around in an Augmented Reality duel?".

But now, Arc-V has taken the top spot for me. The duels are most like real duels - except the Action elements - and they have used all other types of summon except for Rituals so far.

I agree with this. The first episode of Arc-V, I was like meh, I don't think I will like this. However, later they showed duels with a mix of everything from synchro, xyz, pendulum, fusion, etc.

I didn't like zexal. It was just too weird for me. The storyline was missing. All the other series were awesome. I think now with Arc-V that incorporates all the other cards from previous series, it's more realistic for me and I'm beginning to like it a lot.

Things like dungeon dice monsters, turbo duels, action duels, I think are always cool and add a new element to the anime. Konami should continue doing this.

And omg, that last duel, all monster deck was soooo cool. That's the type of creative decks I like. Konami is making the game very variable. Now only if they would fix the banlist to give support for the underdogs like normal monsters.

Personal for me yugioh duel monsters with yugi yami and seto have the most epic duels!![] Yugioh GX the only epic duels have it when jaden duel against Zane and yugi!![] Yugioh 5d have not any epic duel but somehow have interesting duels when the 5d team duel against team unicorn and Ragnarok!![] Yugioh zexal have epic duels only when Shark is duel and for Arc-v i see the first episode and disappointed horribly but i hear that later they duel using any kind of monster type on extra deck so perhaps i try to watch it again!![]

From least to most:
5: Arc-V: it just hasn't done enough to catch my attention yet (by this point, GX, 5D's, and ZEXAL all had me hooked).
4: Yu-Gi-Oh!: outside of nostalgia, it just doesn't have much going for it; the duels drag on forever thanks to flashbacks for characters who aren't all that important; Yugi's bland; Yami Yugi's blander; the only thing that really saves it for me is Joey and Kaiba.
3: GX: Jaden's fun and gets a bit of depth in the last season; pretty much the only series where there aren't any characters just standing in the background cheering/at some point, each character gets their own moment when they're important to the plot.
2: ZEXAL: It's fun and toward the end, gets a bit darker; Yuma's a bit too typical for my taste, but characters like Shark and Vector make up for it.
1: 5D's: The duels are fast-paced and fun to watch; each major arc also served a purpose: Fortune Cup introduced the characters, Dark Signers got the heroes together, and the WRGP was the main battle; the little mini-arcs also gave a look at what happened with fan-favorite characters: Crashtown with Kalin and Nazca with Greiger; Yusei, Crow, and Akiza weren't too special, but they each had their moments; Jack pretty much made the show.

ZEXAL has to be my fave, seeing as Yuma wasn't a boring invincible hero right from the start. It's inspiring to see someone who sucks develop into a duelist who saves ALL OF THE COSMOS.

4. GX - My least favorite. Mainly because the story loses all cohesion past the first half of the first season. After that characters and plots are introduced seemingly at random, for no reason other than having them. The last season fixed that up a bit... aaaand was never officially localized. So, yeah, a hot mess.
3. Yu-Gi-Oh! - Also incohesive, but in my view less so than GX. The characters are mostly bland, but we couldn't really expect much more given that at the time that it first aired, it was a completely new concept. They had to start with something.
2. ZeXal - The series where they finally learned to properly intertwine the backstories of all the characters into a meaningful plot. If only more of the characters were interesting, I'd consider calling this one better than 5D's, but...
1. 5D's - Hands down my most favorite series. It has the most interesting characters, the most unusual but well presented story (cyberpunk + mythology), and I dare say the most exciting duels. Though, granted, you do have to get over the cheesiness of the Riding Duel gimmick initially.

I haven't watched much of ARC-V yet, so I don't have an opinion on it yet.

For me Classic one is the best. Just those epic Joey jokes that made me laugh so hard. And those nonsense Yugi plays that made me go like: "Yay Yugi did it, he beated that dude!". Of Course i was like 7 or 8 years back then but it was amazing. I definitely hate Kaiba, but now i kinda like that nab, he is really strong. Classic cause of best duels, best story (the only one that has a story) and coolest atmosphere.

The new shows like Zexal or 5ds, they just dont feel like normal. I mean head gear, and riding bikes while battling is not normal. I mean it is fun but not you know. And Zexal, i was like why do you need that on your eye(those glasses). And the whole different dimension thingy those not suit Yugioh!a

Just as with Pokemon, I cannot give the 'original generation' any special nostalgia boost to my list. I find the original series, while fun, rather boring and bland - especially when you consider the side-characters are more interesting (like Joey, Kaiba, Pegasus-boy, Dartz, etc). And as much as I hate to admit it, I actually like its dub music better, with some exceptions.

GX shares similar problems to the original but definitely built on them, and being closer to the actual card game rules means it is technically better. Plus the general theme was fun.

I've already given my views on 5Ds and ZeXal. Arc-V has an opposite problem to the original series for me though - outside of Yuya and Reiji, I dislike most of the side-characters. Especially the fat "shivers" kid. Something about him turns me the wrong way.

Just imagine if they referenced those games in arc-v. Or better yet, if they made some kind of DotR sequel and had a tie-in episode! 😃
