Hi everyone.

I'm aware this has been brought up in the past but the last couple of days, I'm having a hard time navigating around this website and the search function is not working for me, so I'll just ask the question again.

This is concerning a Satellite Cannon deck I'm using. I was under the impression that when my opponent destroys a Shining Angel I had, then I can special summon Satellite Cannon and then use Inferno Reckless Summon to get 2 more on the field. For some reason, I can't activate Inferno Reckless Summon in that condition. It works when I special summon from the graveyard however.

I'm reading the text over and over and I still don't get why it isn't working. Can somebody fill me in or is this actually a bug?

Thank you for any answers.

(I forgot to add that my opponent did have face-up monsters at the time)

Inferno reckless summon cannot be used during the damage step.

So then how come other Quick-Play spells like Rush Recklessly and Forbidden Lance can? It's not like the text specifies this.

Because, during the damage step, you can only activate cards that modify the ATK and/or the DEF of the monsters battling. Forbidden Lance ad Rush Recklessly are some of them, and you can activate them. Inferno Reckless Summon doesn't interfer with the ATK/DEF of the monsters battling, so it cannot be activated.
