it was the first turn and i summoned the tricky and discarded Lucent, Netherlord of Dark World, this should have summoned it but it just stayed in the graveyard, meanwhile the effect should have activated

Here is Lucent text:

If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: Special Summon this card from the Graveyard, then, if it was discarded from your hand to your Graveyard by an opponent's card effect, you can Special Summon 1 Fiend-Type monster from your Deck to either side of the field.

What happens is that "The Tricky"s way to ss sumon itself from the hand is not a card effect is an inherent summon that does not start a chain. Just like Grapha's way to ss itself from graveyard, or Machina Fortress.

That's why Lucent effect is not activated and does not ss itself when discarded for "The Tricky"

as stated above, Dark World monsters wont trigger unless they discarded "by" a card effect
it wouldnt trigger if its not discarded, by card such as hand destruction, it wouldnt trigger if
its discarded as a cost like the tricky or lightning vortex
