Hi! I'm looking to improve my Blue-Eyes White Dragon deck, in order to make to it more competitive. Currently, I feel my Main Deck is too slow and lacks a decent draw engine. I also think that my Side Deck is very undeveloped, and could use some serious improvement (I'd like to make it somewhat Anti-Meta). Does anyone here have any tips and suggestions to help improve my deck? Thanks!

Skill Prisoner works wonder with Maiden with Eyes of Blue.

"Skill Prisoner" targets "Maiden with Eyes of Blue," and it also will negate any monster effects that targets Maiden in the first place.
I can also use it from the Graveyard to target her. That's not bad, actually! The downside is that it's a Trap Card, so I won't be able to Summon "Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon" until at least one turn after I've Set the card, unlike the Equip Cards I run (it's also vulnerable to "Mystical Space Typhoon" and "Night Beam", although I should still be able to Chain to the former). It's certainly worth a shot, although I'm not sure which card(s) I should swap out for it just yet (perhaps "Raregold Armor", "Metalsilver Armor", or both).

Skill Prisoner has "during either player's turn" effect and you can use it twice. Two effects at a cost of one card is a plus. It's better than any of your Spell-Equip.

You better run Compulsory Evacuation Device. It can target Maiden and your opponent's monster. A good tech to abuse Maiden and also serve as protection.

In that case, I'll swap one "Skill Prisoner" and one "Compulsory Evacuation Device" for "Raregold Armor" and "Metalsilver Armor." Those two Equip Spells were relatively recent additions to my Deck that I wasn't even sure myself would fit well.

Speaking of "Compulsory," though, how does it stack up to "Interdimensional Matter Transporter?" I used to run the latter card before the October 2014 banlist, and I liked that card because it was very useful for avoiding destruction effects, and would bring back my monster during the End Phase (it also targets "Maiden"). But "Compulsory" sends my monster back to the hand instead of temporarily banishing, which is actually a huge setback if I used it to "save" anything from my Extra Deck, like "Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon," for example. On the other hand, "Compulsory" lets me bounce an opponent's monster too, so I'm not sure which card I should use.

Interdimensional Matter Transporter only target your monster. It means it's pretty much useless if you have no monster around. It does works as Maiden's target, though.

Compulsory Evacuation Device has became a staple in YGO for long. Aside being a Maiden's target, it also chainable during your opponent's turn. It serve as protection and can cancel/disturb your opponent's Summon or Special Summon, let's say the dreaded El Shaddol Winda and alike. You don't need a monster or any special requirement to activate it.

As you already know, card than can be chained during your opponent's turn, especially during your opponent's Main Phase 1 worth more than unchainable card during your opponent's turn.

You may want to add 2 or 3 Forbidden Lance. It can target Maiden and protect Blue-Eyes or Azure-Eyes from destruction.

Personally I'll prefer 2 Forbidden Chalice over Breakthrough Skill - Maiden's target and can disturb Shaddol game.

I'll gladly replace "Breakthrough Skill" with 2 "Forbidden Chalice"- I never liked that I could not use the former card's second effect only on my turn, and "Forbidden Chalice" solves that problem as long as I Set it first. I can also use "Chalice" on Non-Effect Monsters too, which is great in case I need to give Blue-Eyes a temporary ATK boost.

What exactly is the difference between "Forbidden Lance" and "Forbidden Dress"? "Lance" keeps the target unaffected by Spells and Traps, while "Dress" prevents the target from being targeted or destroyed by card effects. "Dress" covers Effect Monster effects (which "Lance" doesn't) and doesn't "Dress" already protect the target from Spells and Traps, since the target can't be destroyed or targeted at all? If so, perhaps I'll just use "Dress" instead.

Forbidden Lance
Chainable during either's player turn. Protect monster from targeting or destroying Spells or Traps.

Forbidden Dress:
Chainable during either's player turn, but:
1. You can chain it in response to the activation of destroying Monster Effect, Spells or Traps. You can't chain it in response to the activation of targeting Monster Effect, Spells or Traps.
2. You must activate Forbidden Dress in advance before your opponent activate any targeting card to protect monster from being targeted. You can't protect monster from targeting effect by chaining.

Simply put, if it's a destroying card you can chain Forbidden Dress, if it's a targeting card you must activate Forbidden Dress in advance.

Most players value/prefer Lance more than Dress.

For example, If my opponent summons "Number 101: Silent Honor ARK," and I have "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" on the field, I would have to use "Forbidden Dress" when "ARK" is first summoned, NOT when it actually activates its effect and targets "Blue-Eyes" (because by then it's too late), right?

If that's the case, then it seems to me that "Forbidden Lance" is probably the better choice for me- I feel "Forbidden Dress" is probably just a little bit too limited for my taste. With "Forbidden Lance," although I won't be able to chain to Effect Monster effects, I can still use "Forbidden Chalice" to negate the opponent's monster effect itself anyway, as long as I have access to it (I'll have to be careful with the ATK gain, though).

I can't really recommend you what card should you swap since my Blue-Eyes deck is a bit outdated and I haven't played Blue-Eyes for long. My build center around Maiden. So I maximize Shining Angel and Pot of Duality for consistency. 2 Trade-In in case I draw Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Guardian of Order.

I've seen old build using Summoner Monk:
1. Summon Summoner Monk.
2. Activate Summoner Monk's effect: summon Elemental HERO Prisma.
3. Activate Elemental HERO Prisma: choose Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and send Blue-Eyes White Dragon to the graveyard.
4. Xyz to Daigusto Emeral.
5. Activate Daigusto Emeral to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Oh, you're right, "Skill Prisoner" would negate that effect! Excellent, I always hate losing one of my "Blue-Eyes" to it.

After careful consideration, I've decided to remove "Rainbow Veil" and "United We Stand" and replace them with two "Forbidden Lance." This means I now have only one Equip Spell left- "Mist Body," which I always felt was the most useful of the three. "Rainbow Veil's" negation effect is nice, but I have "Forbidden Chalice" for that now. As for "United We Stand," I usually equipped it to "Maiden," but she rarely ever gets to attack as it is, so I think I'll go ahead and run without it.

In that same vein, I've decided to remove the 3 "Hidden Armory" from my Side Deck- that made sense when I was running 5 Equip Spells, but seeing as how I now only have one (with more ways of targeting), I feel this card is no longer necessary to use.
