I was playing against the ai and when I wanted to activate a card, it wouldn't let me. The ai attacked and I couldn't activate any of my trap cards when I should've been given the option to, but it never gave me the option to activate it. Any idea whats going on?

Without any additional information we have no idea what is going on. For all we know they attacked with Ancient Gear Golem which means that you not being able to activate your Trap Cads is normal.
