Just wait for Konami to release their next online game if you want that kind of system. However, like Yugioh Online and Duel Arena, they will most likely shut it down. They've realized that a lot of people spend money when a new game is released but once players get a solid deck and have most of the cards, they stop spending money. Eventually the cost of maintaining the servers exceeds the profit and then they shut it down. Hackers also make this easier as eventually someone figures out how to get all the cards in the game.

I like the idea, it has been suggested before a few times, but would take alot of work to implement, and make balanced.

Percy and crew have too much to do already, so I would suggest someone else implementing this idea in their own time as a mod project, and if it works well, Percy might make it official.

Essentially this.

I am a big fan of a progression system of some sorts, like the story modes in many of Konami's official games. However, this does need a ton of work to do. Especially, if you want to do it properly. The experience has to be fun and rewarding, you usually want a decent story behind it, some characters, stuff like that. Cards need to be accessible to the point, where you can expect to build some decent decks in a reasonable timeframe, but stuff has to be sufficiently rare to make it rewarding to get. You need to implement a lot of new elements, create new art, essentially make a completely new game.

Or you make a multiplayer mode, that unlocks new cards as you play human opponents. This has an entirely different set of problems to manage. Mainly balancing, obviously. But also you need a huge pool of players to support this. You don't want to match up a player who unlocked most cards against someone who just started. So you need lots of people for each "progression level", or you need to wait hours for opponents. Then you need to care about cheating, probably need to store progress server-side to prevent players from messing with their progress. Also, pretty much the same deal with progression and motivation, it shouldn't feel like a grind. This is much more important in a pvp environment, where getting wins is usually way harder compared to singleplayer. And obviously, this mode should never be made standard and replace regular play.

You can have a look at francot's Duelist Challenge, which does take steps into this direction.

But the whole point of ygopro is to test deck.

Not necessarily. Part of the fun with Yugioh Video games is making a collection and a deck from scratch, earning all the cards.

but, like I said, someone else will need to do this work this their own time if they want to see it in YGOpro.
