Now, here's my idea for a brand new archetype called, you guessed it, "Auld Lang Syne". If you do not wish to read the info here, you can read it in the README file.

The "Auld Lang Syne" archetype is a group of Level/Rank 4/Link-3 monsters, one Level 8, and Spells/Traps that borrow elements from the lyrics of the song, "Auld Lang Syne". Their point is to dampen battle spirit (ATK reduction) or tear down defenses (DEF reduction) of their attacker, if the monsters are attack targets. This is why "Auld Lang Syne" monsters generally have a low ATK and/or DEF, depending on which thing the monster is able to reduce. They specialize in disrupting the opponent's Battle Phase, and interrupting attacks. The two boss monsters specialize in not only negating attacks, but ending the Battle Phase and choosing an attack target. If you control a different "Auld Lang Syne" monster from the one you are about to Special Summon from the hand, you can Special Summon that monster. These effects are "HOPT". The main boss monster, Auld Acquaintance Bought To Mind, and a Link-3 monster, is unaffected by card effects and forces your opponent to enter the battle phase. These monsters are based off of the lyrics in the song, some living things and others non-living concepts.

Commonly, you'll see this phrase: Before damage calculation, in your opponent's turn, if this card is being attacked: Target the attacking monster; then (X). Not all monsters of this archetype have this gimmick, however.

For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Auld Lang Syne" monster you control as a Tuner. When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Negate the attack, then end the Battle Phase. (This is a Quick Effect.) You can only use this effect of "Auld Lang Syne - My Dear" once per turn. Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle. Negate the effect of your opponent's first Spell Card or effect that resolves each turn while you control a "Auld Lang Syne" monster, and if you do, or if it did not have an effect, destroy that card.

(Quick Effect): You can Special Summon 1 "Auld Lang Syne" monster from your hand or GY. You can only use this effect of "Auld Acquaintance Bought To Mind" once per turn. You can only control 1 "Auld Acquaintance Bought To Mind".

Gude-Willie Waught for Auld Lang Syne

If you control an "Auld Lang Syne" monster: You can gain 500 LP for each "Auld Lang Syne" monster you control, also all monsters you control gain 800 ATK and DEF (even if this card leaves the field). You can only use this effect of "Gude Willie-Waught for Auld Lang Syne" once per turn. The first time this card would be destroyed by card effect each turn, it is not destroyed.
