On round 3 of the replay it happens. I play magical hats to conceal my gem pearl, but my friend can see the xyz-materials that is bound to that monster. I am pretty sure this is a bug, since it wouldn't make sense, to be available to see the materials.

This is not a bug but a rule with how Xyz monsters work. The materials for a Xyz monster always have to be in face-up attack position and underneath the Xyz monster.

This does make Magical Hats not the best card to use if you want to protect Xyz monsters, but most people use Magical Hats for combos with Geartown and cards like that anyway.
