Look, I've zero real life YGO experience, so I don't know the history behind OCG-vs-TCG.
But I definitely can SEE one simple NONSENSE about it:
TCG is way stricter (less good cards you can use) - so WHY then you CAN use OCG decks in TCG duels?
It's like I MUST also make an OCG deck in order to have a FAIR competition.
Cause if I make a TCG one (like I did, the one I'm still using), I WILL be forced to face OCG-"cheaters" ANYWAYS.
Even if I use the TCG option on-server.
The hell???
(That's about my Checkmate experience - maybe the server is bugged/biased in this regard, dunno.)

tHaNkS.

Though that's not exactly what I'm angry about.
TCG as a RULING is stricter, so I'd understand if I could use (stricter) TCG decks in (easier) OCG duels.
Meaning:
TCG=TCG;
OCG=OCG+TCG.
The problem is that it goes the other way around - people use (easier) OCG decks to compete in (harder) TCG "rooms".
Meaning:
TCG=TCG+OCG;
OCG=OCG(+TCG?).
So, if I make a TCG-banlist deck, I still WILL face OCG-banlist decks anyways, even if I choose the *TCG* option.
NOT FAIR.

So what you are trying to say is that you are going in to TCG duels in the Checkmate server and people are using cards like Heavy Storm?

This should not be happening, perhaps you have accidental clicked the OCG option in the Checkmate server as I can not enter a TCG duel when using a deck with Heavy Storm.

As you have hinted in previous posts that you do not like to play matches a good way to make sure you only go into TCG games is to have a card like Magician of Faith in your side deck. That way you would be unable to go into OCG games as that card is banned in them.

Also TCG is not "harder" it is a matter of taste to which you prefer or if you are practising for a tournament.

I wasn't able to understand the first three posts,
anyway in the checkmate server "TCG" refers to the TCG banlist. if "TCG" is selected then you can't use OCG banned cards.
the card list is always the same because of some bugs in the database file.

Oh, I checked a few cards and it's actually FUNNY:
Some of them are limited MORE, while some others are limited LESS. LOL
Yeah, I was kinda wrong about literal "strictness" of TCG.

Also, I'm currently playing an OCG duel (and have Magician of Faith in my Side Deck), and I only got a WARNING about my deck, I still could use it.

I just tested it and it works fine.
make sure you select the right banlist,
when you try to enter the wrong banlist you get a warning and then you are moved to the right duel room.
if you still feel that something wrong is happening, please make a video while you:

1)edit deck
2) enter checkmate server
3) enter the room
4) start the duel with illegal cards

let me know if you need help to record the video
