As a geargia player I can say that geargias are not going to be the next "D-Ruler" of the upcoming format
I also saw the lists at the organization in which a cupple of geargia decks topped. But they did it for the same reason as the geargia dude that won a ycs.... They mained a lot of stuff for chronomaly artifacts. And I guess that all those chronomaly-artifact users sided cards for the mirror match mainly. Because, again as a geargia player, I know the deck very well (I've been playing since its release in REDU, and have won local tournaments 3 times with them, and the others I've been at least in the top 4), and I can say the deck has a many weak spots and the side for them is not that complicated and totally kills the deck...
The thing with them is that mostly people doesn't expect to play against them... For example last tournament I played It was all mostly fire fists and bujin decks. I go with my geargias and my opponents have no side prepared for them, in that same tournament I faced a spellbook deck (long time no see them) and had nothing to side for them, and won because i drew a better hand in the last duel.
That and the fact that the backrow of the deck is incredibly flexible, is what makes geargias good. But if they start seeing a lot of play people are going to start siding the cards that can realy kill the deck. (actually more important than the cards you side against them is the time you use them, In the geargia combos there are some decisive points in which if you strik they can hardly recover).
Also the "natural deck" (whithout maining stuff for an specific deck) desn't have such a good match-up against certain decks...
Chronomaly artifacts on the other hand are insane!!! I've been testing on ygopro and with a good hand you can make both Gorgonic Guardian (which is awsome) and Constellar Pleiades in one turn and have backrow to deal with other stuff that those guys can't deal with, which are very little things... The artifact engine goes almost perfect with chronomaly... And even though is more of a control deck rather than an otk deck you will surely beat your opponent in 2-3 turns.
As for Madolches I understand how the deck works, yet I'm not a madolche player. I can see the potential in them. But I see the same potential in Sylvans and in Genryus, and in Inzector with some indirect support, etc.
I'm no madolche expert so I would love to hear your thoughts about it. Probably I'm wrong and they are better than how I think they are...
